No vouching for accuracy, but this is from the Canadian TV Guide:

What's new:

The writers have decided to switch gears in an attempt to re-energize the show. Also, because Tom McCamus has left the show, don't expect the return of his character, Mason.

Where it's Going:

Look for stories that are darker and have more edge (like The X-Files). It will be revealed that Adam (John Shea) has a very dark past and we've been told not to rule out the death of a main character... gulp.

There is a three story mini-arc beginning with the premiere and then airing 3 and 5 that determine the fate of Ashlocke and all New Mutants. It takes our team back to 70's as well as brings them face to face with their own future.

Brennan gets trapped behind enemy lines after attemting to rescue a downed fighter pilot. (and in another episode he finds the family he didn't know about!!)

Shalimar looks into the eyes of what she could become......

Emma....well..........let's just say that Emma is more than she appears to be.

there is a heck of a lot more but then what would be the point of watching?

What a tease!

Thanks for the info! Shalimar, Brennan, Shalimar, Brennan. A gal could go mad with these two.

You mention Brennan, Shalimar, and Emma -- and you have to ask this question?

(Actually, my favorites are Adam and Jesse... )

Thanks for the dish, Seth. I see http://www.comicscontinuum.com/ is reporting that Sandrine Holt will be guesting in several eps, too! Looking forward to that. I've liked her since seeing her in JOHN WOO'S ONCE A THIEF (which, incidentally, will be here in syndication this fall! Woohoo!).

Sandrine only appears in one episode "The Future Revealed" which will air fifth.

As for Adam, we do meet some people from his past as he learns that hiding in Sanctuary may not be the best idea. And wait til Ashlocke drops a huge bombshell on him that makes Adam rethink everything that he is doing. (...and he runs into his younger self in Time Squared and it's pretty brilliant!!)

And as for our friend Jesse, well, he only has to find a way to stop a nuclear meltdown that could wipe out half the population. Not bad for the second episode of the season

Just hung up with him and we are waiting to see if we can move forward.
To be honest, the die-hard sci-fi fans will care little about him if not pelt me with rocks and garbage for hiring him in the first place (never do get used to it) but it's still cool to hopefully have him aboard as he is a huge comic book fan, brilliant writer, and damn fine actor (that is your only hint)!!

You are persistent DWF

^^^Well, I am bid comic book fan, I've been reading them for almost 30 years, but I think who're talking about, and if it is, I think he's even written a comic book, or two.
And you have made the second season sound, interesting and certainly much better than last year.

Which ones? Actually curious, so please let me know. We can compare notes. The official site limits it's discussions to 'which star is hotter' and that doesn't really help me.

CadenceM Re: Mutant X (potential) spoilers #246975 - 2002/09/09 10:31 PM

I think the official boards are getting better. They made a seperate folder for the "Who's Hottest" threads.
Anyway, I should have known to stay away from these spoilers. I can't wait twenty days! I can't! And it doesn't help that I'm waiting more for the second episode of the season than the first. It just doesn't. Mainly because Young!Adam has piqued my interest.

for that you have to wait another week. It's going to air third

sorry....

CadenceM Re: Mutant X (potential) spoilers #246977 - 2002/09/09 10:36 PM

It is? Okay, I could've sworn it was the second... :: runs back to check :: Oh, shoot. Now I'm going to be ticking my boyfriend off with my MX talk. (Doesn't matter, he'll just stare blankly at me anyway while I get my rants out about being too impatient to wait seven days between each episode.)
Now I've got to busy myself with other stuff just because I'm so impatient.

EDIT: Guess this means I'll have a lot of time to work on my "Undies Hunter" series. So, what do you think for each of the characters of MX -- boxers, briefs, boxer-briefs, unmentionables, or none at all? :: grins evilly ::

Goes to official site to get names of episodes

Lit Fuse
Despite its title, it really didn't spark much for me. I thought the storyline was a little bland.

In the Presence of Mine Enemies
Call me weird, but it was actually the two girls that played the Red Queen and White Queen that made me keep on flipping channels.

Crime of the New Century
Again, the young boy made me keep flipping channels.

Blood Ties
I think this was the first time that I was ever annoyed with Jesse, so when I got disgusted, I flipped it off.

Too tired to really get into a lot details, so feel free to email me at SidheScarlet@aol.com, and let me know what you think of my reasoning.

Racking my brain trying to guess who it could be-drawing blanks...but I would kiss your virtual feet if you could rope John Semper in to pen a few eps.
That would truly be awesome.

CadenceM Re: Mutant X (potential) spoilers #246985 - 2002/09/10 12:04 PM

Now you want to know what episodes people liked? Even if you didn't ask me, I'll go ahead and get my two cents out. (I'll be broke by the time I'm finished.)
Altered Ego - Why? Because Adam got to be just plain freaky in this one. Charlotte was just annoying, but, hey, she made Adam evil for half an episode, so who am I to complain? Anyway, the entire scene with Adam chasing Shalimar around Sanctuary was one of my favorite scenes in all of the first season.

Dancing on a Razor - This was probably one of the best episodes. Okay, maybe not, since that reporter guy (whose name is not worth remembering) was a major pain, but the end was great. The showdown between Adam and Mason was cheer-worthy. And it was great to see that it was Mason that backed down, not Adam, which gets it into my head that Mason's more honorable than Adam in some ways...

And here's one I just have to add in for a strange reason...

Crime of the New Century - More Adam points. Sorry, it' just funny because throughout the entire episode, the way Adam grins just makes him look at least slightly drunk. Oh, and the Jesse/Brennan bickering was quite entertaining. It was gross seeing Jesse stick that much pizza in his mouth. :: shudders ::
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HBKid Re: Mutant X (potential) spoilers #246986 - 2002/09/10 01:33 PM

I guess I might as well add my thoughts on my favorite/least favorite episodes of MX.
Top 5 Favorites

1. Fool for Love
Good episode for Shalimar. Kind of touching as well.

2. White Shade of Pale
Perhaps my favorite of the first season. I liked wondering if Catherine was perhaps Adam's daughter, or Eckerts. And the actress who played Danielle, Guyline St. Onge, was nice eye candy. Good episode for Adam also as he reunites with an old flame and sadly learns Catherine isn't his daughter. I hope you guys bring Danielle and Catherine back in a future episode, perhaps even reveal who the father is. Another scene I loved was the scene where Eckert and his lacky have dinner, the lacky dies after eating the poisoned food, and Eckert remarks, "My compliments to the chef". Tom McCamus made that scene wonderful.

3. Altered Ego
Another good Adam episode.

4. Nothing to Fear
I always liked "worst fear" episodes, as they can be revealing character-wise and tend to be dark and gritty. This one seemed a bit darker than previous episodes, and I liked it for that.

5. Dancing on the Razor
I knew it was just a matter of time before there was a "caught on tape" episode. I liked the reporter, just sad that he turned out to be slime. It would be nice to see some non-mutants befriend a mutant and be nice to a mutant or fall in love with a mutant because they are a decent person, not just out of sympathy. Perhaps there will be more of that in the new season.

Top 5 I Didn't Like Much

1. In the Presence of Mine Enemies
For some reason, I couldn't get into this episode, and find myself never attempting to watch it again. Perhaps if I watch it I can determine better why.

2. Interface
I like Emma and Emma episodes, but there seemed to be so many mid-season, and this one didn't do anything for me. The special effects were nice though, I thought.

3. Ex Marks the Spot
Had some good moments (mainly the heist), but overall it wasn't anything I'd go back and watch again.

4. A Breed Apart
Perhaps Season 2 will change my mind on this episode, but I felt this episode happend way too fast. Not thrilled about the new powers at this time, and sad to see Eckert depart, though direction-wise I can understand that Eckert wouldn't fit in as well. Though I hope we see him again in season 2. Overall, I felt "Dancing on the Razor" made for a better Season Finale, despite the fact it wasn't such and was aired out or order.

5. Deadly Desire
Good to see a Brennan episode, as well as the return of one of his thief friends from the first episode. Krista Allen was nice eye candy, but overall the episode didn't do much for me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BlueLotus Re: Mutant X (potential) spoilers #246987 - 2002/09/10 02:14 PM

Top five favorites:
Fool for Love -- Great Shalimar episode, if a little sad.

Double Vision -- Getting to see an Emma that's slightly shady was cool. She really did that episode well.

Altered Ego -- Oooohhhh...evil Adam. This was another awesome episode.

Nothing to Fear -- Just a really good episode, especially dealing with the fears. I liked how Emma was able to put the music in his mind. Also, a tad darker than other episodes.

A Breed Apart -- The introduction of Gabriel (who I love), and the growing of powers. I knew it had to happen, and this episode dealt with it very well.

Xiphan Re: Mutant X (potential) spoilers #246988 - 2002/09/10 02:17 PM

Did anybody but me not like Kilohertz? I thought it was filled with a particular amout of bad dialogue attempting to be witty but just fell flat. The guy who played Kilohertz was also annoying.
Yet Deadly Desire was one of my faves. (behind Fool for Love) because I was surprised that Krista Allen actauly had some acting talent and did her job well.

And getting out of sanctuary more in the second season is just what the show needs
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CadenceM Re: Mutant X (potential) spoilers #246989 - 2002/09/10 02:29 PM

I hated Kilohertz as well. That guy was just so annoying. And, like someone said over at the official boards, the whole talk about the morality of using subdermal governers was just stupid. You'd think that they would compare the amount of people it saves against the one person it limits.
And, I know it's not specific, but those electricity poles are really getting to me. Every other evil company carries around guns, why can't Genomex lackies?
