Celebrities Heading Home -- and Far From It -- for Holidays

With Christmas upon us, the celebrity contingent heads for points near and far, for traditional and non-traditional -- make that very non-traditional - holiday delights.\"My husband's family -- well, they're my family now -- are incredible people," avows Anne Heche, referring to her spouse of two years, cameraman-turned-full-time-dad to their baby son Homer, Coley Laffoon. "I just love them, and we love spending the holidays together. I tease them that they've turned me into such a tradtional girl. What's happened to me? I used to be so wild -- and now I just can't wait for Christmas Day to drive to the grandparents' house and have turkey. It's just great"
Ellen DeGeneres' former partner, Heche, who wrote of her unhappy upbringing in her 2001 autobiography, "Call Me Crazy," explains that when it comes to the feeling of a close-knit family, "It took me a long time to get here. Are you kidding? I'm gonna love it. I'm gonna love it."
For many celebs who have young children, it's all about the kiddies.
Vince Gill and Amy Grant took their 2 1/2-year-old daughter, Corinna, along on their holiday music concert tour, which Vince says was "a blast. The Christmas season is a great time of year to be out with her, enjoying all the sights in the different cities."
Doting dad Dean Cain is taking his toddler son, Christopher, to Colorado for Christmas. "He's three and a half and I'm going to take him skiing for the first time," says Cain, who recently wrapped USA Network's upcoming "A Perfect Husband: The Laci Peterson Story." "I'm really excited to get him up there and out there and if he wants to snowboard too, great -- whatever he wants to do."
"Angel's" David Boreanaz is also anxious to share winter fun with his 1 1/2-year-old son, Jaden. He says he and his wife Jaime are "going to a snow area for Christmas" so that Jaden can have the full experience.
Pierce Brosnan will be going from one paradise to another for the holidays. He's just finished filming "After the Sunset" with Salma Hayek in the Bahamas, and is taking wife Keely Shaye Smith, and their brood to spend the Yule time at their home in Hawaii.
"Mutant X" hunk Victor Webster is looking to broaden his horizons this holiday season. "I want to explore different cultures and get a little life experience under my belt, so I'm going to Egypt and Greece," says Webster. He adds that he doesn't even consider whether it's safe to travel abroad these days. "I don't want to live under anybody's thumb -- you gotta keep moving."
Also not afraid to take off for places unknown is "Line of Fire" regular Leslie Hope. "I'm going to Cambodia and Laos for the holidays. I'm very excited and a little nervous about Cambodia," admits Hope, whose passion for traveling to exotic locales has taken her to Peru, Cuba, Turkey, Iceland, China and the Ecuadorian jungle, where she lived with a native tribe in the rainforest. "I'm not that high-end traveler. You can't really see the country if you're staying at a Hilton. You might as well stay at home. I try and do as much research as I can and just have the place I'm staying the first night set up."
"Monk" regular Bitty Shram, who was nominated for her first Golden Globe for the USA Network dramedy, is another one intent on "traveling as much as I can. I'm going away for the holidays to Prague because it's a winter wonderland city. Everyone says how beautiful it is. I'll be there for a week and a half, two weeks then I'm going to Austria after that."
Former "Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman" star Jane Seymour and family will be spending Christmas at her castle in Bath, England, but not just for holiday fun. Mixing business with pleasure, Seymour is developing a line of furniture -- the St. Catherine's Court Collection for Saks Fifth Avenue -- and she'll be deciding which furniture in her castle can be adapted for the Saks line.
Recent Kennedy Center honoree Carol Burnett's spending a quiet holiday at her Santa Barbara digs. "Some family is going to come up, nothing too strenuous," she says with a laugh.
The beloved performer has lived in Hawaii and Santa Fe, New Mexico, but says with her current home, "We finally got it right. Santa Fe is nice, but it's hard to get to and from. This is perfect, just hours away from Los Angeles."
