Catherine Hartman. Mutant Type: Molecular (Stealth). First Appearance: "Whiter Shade of Pale."
Quote: Whatever my mother's done, she did it for me. So I guess that makes this as much my fault is it is hers.
Details: Catherine was the daughter of Danielle Hartman, the former lover of both Mason Eckhart and Adam Kane. Just as Catherine turned fifteen, her mother's genetic structure began to rapidly deteriorate, prompting Danielle to steal a genetic sequencer in an attempt to cure herself. Adam successfully combined Catherine's DNA with her mother's to stabilize them both. Though Danielle told Adam that Catherine was not his daughter, she assured Catherine that her father was "very smart, and that, for a short while, they loved each other very much."

Danielle Hartman. Mutant Type: Molecular (Stealth). First Appearance: "Whiter Shade of Pale."
Quote: I knew you'd never accept the inevitable. I wanted to enjoy the time I had, not pine away over some miracle cure that wasn't going to happen.
Details: Danielle Hartman first came to Genomex for medical help 15 years prior to season one, where she met and fell in love with Adam Kane. Unfortunately, the treatments she received caused her DNA to fragment, and she became a stealth mutant with the ability to become invisible by creating a shield around her body to block light. Adam tried to persuade her to undergo more experiments to fortify her genetic code, but Mason Eckhart convinced her that Adam could not be trusted to treat her as anything but a lab rat. She left Genomex to work as at a shipping company upstate until she couldn't hide her symptoms. She returned to steal a genetic sequencer from one of Adam's safehouses to cure herself, but then lost it to the GSA. In order to find a treatment that could help her and her daughter Catherine, she convinced Adam to try the drug Ephanol. The euphoria from the drug caused her to believe she was strong enough to leave Adam's lab to seek out Mason's aid. Mutant X saved her from GSA capture, and Adam combined her DNA with her daughter's, thereby stabilizing both. From Adam's Mutant X Lives diary: DANIELLE HARTMAN - She still owns my heart and youth. I cannot bring myself to write much about her. She fades from me now, as always, but never goes away. I hope her daughter will not share the same fate.

Levak Ivanov. Mutant Type: Psionic (Illusionist). First Appearance: "Reality Check."
Quote: Oh, to crawl inside your head.
Details: A graduate of the Soviet version of Genomex, The Tretiakova Institute, Levak was the powerful psionic agent assigned to interrogate physicist Dominic Rydell. Though Mutant X saved Dominic from capture, Levak maintained his hold by making Dominic believe he was trapped in one of his own experimental mazes, where the rats were killed when they reached the exit. When Shalimar Fox and Brennan Mulwray attended a Balkistan Embassy party to find Dominic's assaulters, Levak captured Shalimar and trapped her mind in a world where Brennan was her husband. Then pretending to be Brennan, Levak attempted to persuade her to tell him where to find Adam Kane. Emma deLauro telepathically connected with Dominic and led him out of the maze. She then engaged Levak in a psionic battle which rendered him unconcious, freeing Shalimar. Levak was admitted to a mental institution.

Josh. Mutant Type: Elemental (Thermal). First Appearance: "The Future Revealed."
Quote: I don't know what happened. It used to be about all of us working together, you know? Now it’s just all about Gabriel.
Details: Josh was the member of the Links who warned Mutant X about Gabriel Ashlocke's "Last Testament" plans. In order to keep him quiet, Gabriel turned Josh's thermal new mutant abilities against him, resulting in his firey death.

Jesse Kilmartin. Mutant Type: Molecular (Impermeable/Intangible). First Appearance: "Shock of the New."
Details: Jesse Kilmartin is the son of manipulative covert operative Noah Kilmartin. Both his wealthy father and his grandfather William had won medals for their military service, but Jesse rarely saw his grandfather because of animosity between the two men. Though Noah’s work habitually kept him far from home, Jesse remembered occasional pizza parlor visits and yearly father-son martial arts competitions until his parent’s divorce. Jesse first discovered his abilities in high school, while engaged to Alisha Keary, the daughter of the wealthy industrialist family with whom he used to spend summers. Fleeing from a life where he could not fit in, Jesse joined Mutant X to find a new family and sense of purpose. As an intangible/impervious molecular, Jesse can alter his body’s density to intangible enough to walk through walls (phasing) or dense enough to stop bullets and cars (massing). By the end of the third season, Jesse can also phase and mass other objects and people by touch. Jesse can only remain massed for as long as he can hold his breath, and if he remains phased for more than 30 seconds, he may not be able to reform. More about Jesse is here.

Kim. Mutant Type: Unknown. First Appearance: "The Future Revealed."
Quote: I love you, Gabriel. I mean, we all do. But especially me.
Details: Kim was the Link who helped Gabriel Ashlocke to get into Sanctuary. She escaped while Gabriel was being “cured” by Adam Kane, but was pregnant with Gabriel’s child. It's unlikely that Kim's child was the same as The Child from "The Prophecy," since the latter was created after Gabriel's death...but you never know.

Kristoff. Mutant Type: Molecular (Regenerative). First Appearance: "The Hand of God."
Quote: If I'm to be cursed with this gift, I'll be the one who decides who lives and who dies.
Details: Kristoff could absorb a person’s wounds and then heal himself or transfer them to another through touch. His parents used him in a roadside ministry until he was trapped for three years in a private clinic where prisoners were tortured in an effort to discover his healing limitations. Kristoff escaped with a band of followers to a hideout in the woods, where they were still hiding from bounty hunters when The Dominion sent Mutant X to capture him for study. After Shalimar Fox was injured in-flight, Kristoff’s follower Burke brought her to Kristoff to be cured. The traitorous Carl falsely accused Burke of working for the bounty hunters, so Kristoff transferred Shalimar’s wound to Burke, killing him. Kristoff refused to leave the woods with Shalimar, so Carl seized the opportunity to hand Kristoff over to the bounty hunter Terra. When Brennan was shot in the struggle to free Kristoff, Kristoff absorbed the fatal wound himself. He then transferred it to Carl when the traitor reached down to drag his body away.

Harvey Lanchester. Mutant Type: Psionic (Combustion). First Appearance: "Dancing on the Razor."
Quote: Where'd he think he was going?
Details: A psychotic psionic with the ability to propel microwaves from his brain, Harvey Lanchester was the GS agent who could quite literally “cook you from the inside out.” Mason Eckhart assigned him to destroy reporter Jay Minhaus’s recording of Brennan Mulwray and Jesse Kilmartin using their abilities against GS agents–before Jay could send it to Proxy Blue as proof of new mutants’ existence. Unsure of which reporter had created the disk, Harvey murdered everyone at Jay’s workplace and torched the building. On learning that the perpetrator was still alive under Mutant X protection, Harvey tracked Shalimar Fox down and tortured her until Emma deLauro intervened, pretending to be Mason. When Jay appeared, Shalimar crushed the disk and Harvey killed him. Harvey then turned his deadly microwaves on Shalimar, but Emma used her psionic blast to reflect them back to him, burning him to death.

Tony LaPorta. Mutant Type: Molecular (Force-fields). First Appearance: "Cirque des Merveilles."
Quote: Lexa: Who did this? Tony: It's the Creator. You have to stop him.
Details: Tony was a top Dominion operative who was forced to flee the Dominion after uncovering forbidden secret information. In order to eradicate him, The Dominion allowed him to believe that Deklin Charvet’s Cirque des Merveilles was a safe hiding place instead of the new mutant death camp it was. Mutant X tried to save Tony by infiltrating the circus, but moments after they had convinced Diane Taylor to release him from his alternate dimension prison, a Dominion sniper shot him. With his dying breath, Tony warned them to beware of The Creator.

Billy Larkin. Mutant Type: Elemental (Thermal). First Appearance: "Inferno."
Quote: Ray!Emma: Tell me why you set those fires.
Billy Larkin: Because I can. Because it’s something I can do. You were the hero and I was the wannabe. Do you know what it’s like, living under that shadow day in and day out? Constantly being reminded what a failure I am? Until one day I discovered there’s something I can do that no one else can. And it feels good. And for once, something feels good.
Details: Thermal elemental Billy Larkin was the brother of arsonist investigator Ray Larkin. Jealous of the hero status his brother had attained, Billy believed that his ability to create fires was the only thing that made him special. He had lit several fires around his own home, and was spreading out around the city when Ray became obsessed with finding the mystery arsonist. After his brother was killed in one of the fires he had started, Billy's activities escalated. Emma deLauro, who had established a psionic connection with Ray which continued after his death, finally wrung a confession from Billy by questioning him in Ray's voice. Refusing to turn himself in, Billy tried to burn down Mulligan's Tavern around them. Shalimar Fox was able to save Emma from the flames just in time, but Billy was engulfed in fire and perished.

Zack Lockhart. Mutant Type: Psionic (Image projection). First Appearance: "Ex Marks the Spot."
Quote: Shalimar: The genetic code to manipulate free will is in that egg. Zack: It's amazing what they can do with eggs these days.
Details: The professional thief Zack was a psionic with the ability to see through solid walls and then project images of what was behind them. He and Shalimar had a brief affair which ended abruptly when Zack abandoned her to take the rap for one of his heists. From Mutant X Lives: ZACH LOCKHART - He reminds me of Errol Flynn in one of those roguish pirate movies. A real devil that you cannot help but like. I would hope that he’s out of our lives, particularly Shalimar’s, but I doubt it. That dark smirk will be back some day and we’ll probably fall victim to trusting him and pay the price. That’s how it is with certain types. Karmic irony, I guess. A side note in regards to Lockhart’s powers: he is a truly rare Psionic. A form of visual psychic who projects illusions of what he sees. Is it a shame he wastes it on petty theft…or a blessing? Used as a weapon, it could be devastating.

Lt. Beau Longstreet. Mutant Type: Feral (Feline). First Appearance: "Dark Star Rising."
Quote: The feral thing's not half bad.
Details: Beau was a member of the secret anti-terrorist military unit Dark Star. During a mission in the jungles of Bogotá, he and his troops were given experimental Rafflesia pricei serum injections instead of vaccinations by Tricorp Botanicals/Genomex in order to heighten their combat reflexes with feral DNA. After all but three of his soldiers were massacred by the enemy or the drug's influence, Beau returned home with Angel Dorn and Clark Randall bomb Tricorp. They were interrupted by Shalimar Fox, who brought them to Sanctuary so that Angel could be treated. Beau and Shalimar were captured by the GSA while stealing a Rafflesia Precei plant from Tricorp for Adam. At Genomex headquarters, Shalimar was able to disuade Beau from strangling Mason Eckhart, and they both returned to Sanctuary for a joyous reunion with a recovered Angel. Beau and Angel buried their fellow soldiers with military honors.

Eli Lynch. Mutant Type: Elemental (Wind). First Appearance: "Altered Ego."
Quote: Let's get something straight. You've got raw talent and that's all you've got. I convinced Eckhart to give you a chance. Don't make me look bad.
Details: An elemental who could vaccuum the breath from his victims, GS agent Eli Lynch manipulated Charlotte Cooke into helping the GSA destroy Adam Kane. He carefully instructed her about how best to impress Mason Eckhart, but Charlotte resented his superior attitude towards her. When the time came to prove her worth to Mason Eckhart, Charlotte unexpectedly turned her powers against Eli, releasing his violent urge to strangle a nearby agent with his hands instead of his own abilities. Once she had completed Adam's reversal, Eli merrily injected Charlotte's subdermal governor.

Kendra MacEvoy. Mutant Type: Feral. First Appearance: "In the Presence of Mine Enemies."
Quote: Regardless of what the product is, social engineering is just a matter of selling a client what they think they already want.
Details: GS agent Kendra MacEvoy, a social engineering expert, was assigned to keep Proxy Blue from airing broadcasts about Mason Eckhart and the GSA. Pretending to be friends with the computer hacker Toni Quintana, Kendra persuaded Toni to set her up on a date with Brennan Mulwray. Once inside The Data Dive, Kendra kidnapped Toni back to Genomex to hack into Proxy Blue. Toni did create an alternate version of Proxy Blue, but Mutant X rescued Toni and restored the computer program before Mason could use it. As Mutant X left the building, Brennan electrocuted Kendra.

Nick Maddox. Mutant Type: Elemental (Thermal). First Appearance: "Within These Walls."
Quote: You made me what I am. And then you tried to put me away ‘cause I did what came naturally.
Details: As a child, Nick was sent to Genomex for 6 months of experimental treatment by Adam Kane's one-time lover, Christina. As a result, Nick developed the ability to shoot photon daggers from his hands. Christina recruited him as an assassin for her organization, but on learning that Nick had his own agenda, she had him arrested. She called on Adam to have Mutant X act as security backup during the prison transfer. Nevertheless, Nick’s accomplices Asia and Harris helped him escape. Nick then focused on killing Christina for revenge, drilling his way into the water-filled safe room where she and Adam were hiding. The two fled as soon as Nick’s bomb blew the safe room’s doors open, and Jesse Kilmartin massed to protect them from Nick’s deadly daggers. As Nick stepped into the water for a closer shot, Brennan Mulwray electrocuted him.

Maria. Mutant Type: Psionic (Mutant detection). First Appearance: "Lazarus Syndrome."
Quote: Sorry. When you pour drinks for 8 hours and get hit on by anything wearing pants, faces start to blur.
Details: Maria was the new mutant bartender at the nightclub above ‘vampire’ Caleb Mathias’s underground lair. Caleb allowed the frightened woman to remain alive as long as she used her new mutant detection ability to find and lure other mutant victims to him.

Mal. Mutant Type: Feral(?). First Appearance: "Lest He Become."
Details. Mal was one of the imperfect mutants Mason Eckhart created with Adam's experimental research on selected mutations. He joined Silva and Rucker in obtaining genetic samples of certain individuals so that Mason could perfect the process. Mutant X attempted to stop them, but he and Silva were too powerful for them.

Marika. Mutant Type: Psionic (Telepath). First Appearance: "Into the Moonless Night."
Quote: I'm in.
Details: Wheelchair-bound Marika was Mason Eckhart's psionic accomplice. Once Oblivion and Silva brought Brennan Mulwray to Mason for questioning, Marika painfully ripped into his mind searching for Sanctuary's location and access codes. Mutant X interrupted before Mason could use the information, and Brennan electrocuted Marika once freed from his chains.

Charles Marlowe. Mutant Type: Molecular (Regenerative). First Appearance: "The Meaning of Death."
Quote: Shalimar: Back off or he's dead. Charles: Like I give a damn.
Details: Charles's parents brought him to Genomex for Adam Kane's experimental treatments when he was young. The treatments cured his illness, but dramatically increased his cellular regeneration rate, leaving him virtually indestructable. Years later, after surviving a car crash which killed his wife and daughter, Charles became obsessed with death. He was working as Mason Eckhart's second when a Cladosporium plague broke out. Adam discovered that elements in Charles's DNA could stop the spread of the infection, but once he extracted the strand to make the cure, Charles became mortal once more. Returning to Genomex, Charles refused to help Mason exploit the new cure, so Mason had him shot. Charles died in Shalimar Fox's arms, happy to be reunited with his wife and daughter. From Adam's diary on Mutant X Lives: CHARLES MARLOWE - The experience with Charles has taken an emotional toll on me. I knew him from my earliest days at Genomex when we were friends. He looked to me for help and I did my best, but in the end nothing could make him feel normal. He could not age, be injured or become ill. Many would consider this a blessing. Charlie knew different. His powers kept him from ever being close to anyone. The psychological damage of losing his wife and daughter after walking away from the plane crash that killed them forever tore apart his moral fiber. Eckhart must have known what a time bomb Charles was yet, took advantage of him anyway. Had the New Mutant virus not attacked, Charles Marlowe would have been an unstoppable force at Genomex. Fortunately, the good man I knew surfaced when he learned his DNA could stop the disease. His sacrifice will not leave me. I am forever haunted by that look in his dying eyes when he realized he was at last human.
From Genomex.net: GENOMEX SECURITY FILE: XX669MX Marlowe, Charles Priority Clearance Only UPDATED 4/4 Charles Marlowe was the result of an early experiment by Dr. Breedlove to influence the DNA of Molecular embryos. Of the three species attempted (see security files XS668X and XY0000 on Stealths and Morphs, respectively), Marlowe was the only infant of his classification (Untouchable) to be born alive. Thought originally to be impervious to injury, it has since been revealed that the New Mutant actually had regenerative abilities that instantly repaired all wounds and ailments. By the age of four, Marlowe's powers were evident enough to attract unwanted attention (he never got sick, could not be vaccinated and was completely unharmed following a minor auto accident). The decision was made to take the child from his family and raise him at Genomex. Training as an elite agency operative began at the same time. Before reaching adolescence, the young Molecular was considered a promising success. He was obedient, physically superior and extremely attuned with his invulnerability. At age thirteen, however, Dr. Breedlove noticed a rapid decline in Marlowe's psychological state. A manic strain of instability had manifested resulting in what was termed "tiger/lamb behavior". After a series of tests, it was determined that average growing pains and parental separation were not the primary cause of these fits, but that they stemmed from previously undetected defects in his manipulated genetic code. As medication would have had no effect on the Untouchable, he was put on a regimen of daily mental conditioning and returned to agent training, albeit under a reduced priority status. Both Security Chief Eckhart and then-Genomex science head Adam [word deleted] championed Marlowe's development and did much to secure his future and personal growth (a rare measure that Dr. Breedlove approved of at the time). Field tests and early missions in South America, Eastern Europe and the infamous "Blood Bay" were deemed extremely productive. With every success, however, the teenage Untouchable became more unpredictable in his temperament. The very abilities that made him so effective as an agent also made him more elusive to Genomex's control. He could not be effectively disciplined or terminated. By age twenty, Marlowe was deemed too dangerous an element to be kept "in house" and with Adam's recommendation was allowed to move out into public life under a highly monitored existence. He maintained a love/hate relationship with Mr. Eckhart for the next fifteen years, partaking in the occasional covert assignment (at both high risk and pay) between bouts of hostility and resentment. He refused Adam's offer to join the terrorist faction Mutant X but wanted no larger role at Genomex either. Instead, the Untouchable attempted to achieve a "normal" existence. Marlowe secured non-government employment, married at twenty-seven and fathered a non-mutant daughter two years later. As Mr. Eckhart predicted, such integration could not be sustained. After walking away from an airplane crash that killed both his wife and child, the Untouchable returned to the fold with a radically revised mindset to eradicate all new mutant independence. Quickly rising to second-in-command, Marlowe seemed to be finally fulfilling his potential as the ultimate Genomex soldier. Once again, the performance was misleading. The advent of the New Mutant Virus (see research file GRMXMX2) and renewed contact with the traitor Adam combined to unhinge the Molecular's mental state once and for all. By donating his restorative DNA as a cure for the disease, Marlowe proved he was a permanent liability, security-wise. Advantage was taken of the rare vulnerable state the genetic transfusion left him in and he was eliminated. Rather than a custom autopsy, Mr. Eckhart ordered the Untouchable's remains disintegrated, lest they regenerate again. He then ordered all experiments to duplicate and improve Marlowe's DNA sequence aborted. This mandate remains in place UFN.

Andrea Marshall. Mutant Type: Psionic (Telepath). First Appearance: "Where Evil Dwells."
Quote: Shalimar, finding a place in society is more about accepting yourself than looking for them to accept us.
Details: Since Andrea Marshall was a Justice Department profiler, Adam Kane once introduced Andrea to Shalimar Fox to prove that mutants could live relatively normal lives. Andrea later turned to Shalimar for help while investigating murders resembling those of the imprisoned Puzzle Killer, Lee Marker. As the investigation progressed, Mutant X discovered that Lee had contaminated Andrea's mind during her telempathic connections with him, influencing her to murder in his stead. Andrea knifed Lee and went after Shalimar. Mutant X saved her, and Shalimar chased Andrea to the roof where she lost her footing, falling to her death.

Caleb Mathias. Mutant Type: Molecular (Regenerative). First Appearance: "Lazarus Syndrome."
Quote: Emma: What are you going to do with us? Caleb: Never ask a question that you don't want answered.
Details: Caleb could regenerate his body by ingesting the lifeforce of other new mutants. With the forced help of the bartender Maria, a psionic with the ability to detect new mutants, Caleb had escalated to killing 6 mutants in 5 months by the time Mason Eckhart assigned GS agent Pamela Fries to end his rampage. Caleb attacked Emma DeLauro at Maria's nightclub before Brennan Mulwray fought him off. Caleb haunted Emma's mind until she returned to him, but he was again interrupted when Pamela ran over him with her car. Caleb revived, capturing and draining both Pamela and Emma in his underground dungeon. As Shalimar mourned Emma, Caleb was about to attack her as well when Brennan electrocuted him, burning him past resuscitation. Once Caleb's body dissolved into ashes, the absorbed lifeforces returned to their previous owners, and Emma and Pamela were saved. From Adam's diary on Mutant X Lives: CALEB MATHIUS - John Steinbeck wrote that some people are born monsters. It also applies to New Mutants. They can be as evil and twisted as Eckhart and it has nothing to do with genetics. Mathius was, for lack of a better word, a vampire. He knew right from wrong and still enjoyed the seduction and killing of his victims. There was help available to control his powers but he chose the life of a predator. Fortunately for us, Emma was not among his casualties.

Vince Meisel. Mutant Type: Molecular (Propulsive). First Appearance: "Shock of the New."
Details: Vince was a safehouse operator with Allison Turner. After Ruby Bishop informed GS agent Frank Thorne of the safehouse's location, he was captured along with the rest of the new mutants in the safehouse, and then rescued by Mutant X. From Mutant X Lives: VINCE MEISEL: This Molecular mechanic from Detroit has the reputation for being able to fix any gadget, machine or form of transport in record time. His natural gifts involve accelerated motion but his talents are all about engines. Vince is a guy of few words (he lets his feral fiancée do most of the talking) but his actions speak volumes. There’s scarcely a piece of equipment in Mutant X that does not have his stamp on it.

Diana Moller. Mutant Type: Molecular/Psionic (Stasis-Suspension). First Appearance: "Time Squared."
Quote: Gabriel: I don’t have time to play games. I’m dying. Diana: You don’t really think I care, do you?
Details: Diana was a former Link of Gabriel Ashlocke's The Strand with the ability to affect the gravitational dilation of time, create time portals, change the shape of atoms, and alter the space-time continuum. She attempted to hide from Gabriel by becoming a patient in Ellison Psychiatric Ward, but he forced her to send him back in time to October 13th 1978, the day Adam Kane tried to reduce his powers. Before the portal closed, Shalimar Fox and Brennan Mulwray leaped in after him. Diana, fearing that changes to the past would alter the present, refused to create another portal until Emma DeLauro mindblasted her into obedience. Once Emma and Adam Kane arrived in the past, Gabriel killed Adam, and the Sanctuary of the present began to disappear around Diana and Jesse Kilmartin. Diana created a third portal to a point in time just before Adam's death, and Jesse stunned Gabriel with his own reflected energy blast. Mutant X dragged Gabriel back to the present through Diana's final portal.

Riley Morgan (a.k.a. Isabella Eastham) Mutant Type: Psionic (Telepath). First Appearance: "The Prophecy."
Quote: Stand back and watch, G.Q. You might learn something.
Details: A former Link in The Strand, Riley Morgan was once in love with Gabriel Ashlocke. After Gabriel's death, Riley felt blessed when precog John Bishop declared her one of the four new mutants chosen to contribute DNA to Gabriel's successor, The Child. She soon realized her son's dangerous potential, however, and tried to stop the prophetic omens leading to his ascension to power. When this strategy failed, she and Brennan Mulwray (another contributing 'parent') found The Child's underground home and fought off the Links protecting him. The Child easily deflected Riley's psionic blast and connected with her, convincing her that he had not yet been corrupted. In turn, Riley convinced Brennan to allow her to raise The Child herself.

Donna Morse. Mutant Type: Feral (Feline). First Appearance: "Fool for Love."
Quote: Donna: Adam told me entrance into the underground was completely voluntary. Shalimar: So? Donna: So you tell Adam I said thanks, but no thanks.
Details: Donna had contacted Adam Kane about finding a place in the new mutant underground when she met Dr. Richard Saunders from Genomex. Twice a week for three weeks, he began giving her injections of his experimental serum which had the potential for turning new mutants into normal humans. By the time Shalimar came to take Donna into the underground, Donna refused, believing that she would soon no longer be a new mutant. Unfortunately, a flaw in Richard's serum caused Donna to lose control of her feral abilities before succumbing to the serum's fatal side effects.

Brennan Mulwray. Mutant Type: Elemental (Electrical). First Appearance: "Shock of the New."
Details: Brennan was the son of a fighter pilot who was imprisoned and killed after his plane was shot down behind enemy lines. Brennan and his step-father never got along. He started boosting cars at 10 years old, and continued to run with the wrong crowd until high school. There, faced with the court-appointed choice between juvenile detention and counseling, he met psychologist Dr. Victor Palance, the first person he trusted enough to tell about his new mutant abilities. After high school, Brennan continued his petty thefts, and was just about to escalate his gang to bank robbery when he encountered Emma deLauro running from the GSA. While attempting to protect her, he was captured by Mason Eckhart. Brennan chose to join Mutant X after they saved him from Genomex's employ. As an electrical elemental, Brennan ("Sparky") can throw tesla coils from his fingers, allowing him to jump-start cars and cardiac arrests, open electronic locks, and electrocute enemies. Brennan needs a period of rest between voltage uses, and cannot use his abilities when he gets wet, lest he short out or electrocute himself. Wrapping his arms in chains grounds him. More about Brennan is here.

Oblivion. Mutant Type: Elemental (Wind). First Appearance: "Into the Moonless Night."
Quote: The air is everywhere but in your lungs right now. Don't fight it, Brennan. Just let go.
Details: Oblivion was one of Mason Eckhart's molecular minions. When a disillusioned Brennan Mulwray temporarily walked away from Mutant X after Adam Kane's disappearance, Silva received word from a bartender about his whereabouts. Oblivion found Brennan in the bar, used her sex appeal to trick him into letting his guard down, sucked the air from his lungs, and brought him unconscious to Mason Eckhart.

Patricia. Mutant Type: Elemental (Electrical). First Appearance: "The Future Revealed."
Quote: He's in our minds because he loves us.
Details: Patricia was a Link member of Gabriel Ashlocke's group, The Strand. The dying Gabriel chose her to be the instrument of destruction in his "Last Testament" plan to take the entire city with him. His mind control over her was erratic, however, so that when Mutant X came to stop Gabriel at the Club Paradiso, Patricia created an energy wall around Mutant X which slowed down the electrons from The Links' attack. In return, Mutant X took her to Sanctuary for protection against Gabriel, only to find that Gabriel had already taken over Sanctuary with codes from Shalimar Fox's mind. Fearing Gabriel's wrath, Patricia refused to tell them about his plans. Learning that Adam Kane did not intend to cure him, Gabriel telepathically forced Patricia to use her abilities to speed up electrons to blow up the city with a power plant's transformer. Fortunately, Shalimar and Emma were able to convince Patricia to fight his influence, and Gabriel died without seeing his revenge fulfilled.

Cyrus Payton. Mutant Type: Molecular (Astral Projection). First Appearance: "Body and Soul."
Quote: You can't stop me. No one can. That's the way you made me.
Details: Cyrus was a teenager involved in The Walker Project, a Genomex research study on astral projection conducted by Dennis Malone, Mark Kearney and Leo McAllister. Dennis and Mark stole Cyrus's soul after they discovered a method for Cyrus to project himself into someone else's body. The two scientists attempted to contain the soul after Cyrus's body died, but he escaped and began to exact his revenge by leaping from body to body, pushing the lifeforce out of each as he entered. In this manner, Cyrus had killed Dennis, a limosine driver, the young bystander Kelly, television reporter Carla and her cameraman Vic, before Emma deLauro was able to knock him out of Carla's body so that Brennan Mulwray could make him disappear with a tesla coil.

Lexa Pierce. Mutant Type: Molecular (Chromatic). First Appearance: "Into the Moonless Night."
Details: Lexa and her twin brother Leo were the children of two army intelligence operatives who participated in a government fertility experiment. When Lexa and Leo displayed new mutant abilities, their parents sent them to be raised in a military facility. Leo's powers began to spiral out of control when the twins were 14, so Lexa left to become a GS agent in exchange for free medical care for Leo. Lexa tried to leave the GSA when she found that Leo was being tortured, but she was recaptured and given a neural implant to control her. Adam Kane failed to remove the implant during her two year membership on his early Mutant X 1.0 team, so Lexa left him to work as a mercenary. Learning that Leo had escaped from Genomex, Lexa traded her services as a Dominion operative for their help in her search for him. Adam Kane worked back channels to assign her to Mutant X once again. As a chromatic molecular, Lexa ("Complexa") is able to bend light to make herself and those she is touching invisible. Unlike molecular stealth mutants like Danielle and Catherine Hartman, however, Lexa is also able to shoot penetrating lasers from her fingertips, and create blinding light flashes with her hands. Thus some sources list Lexa as an elemental instead of a molecular. There is a time limit on Lexa's invisibility, and while invisible her heat outline can still be seen with infra-red goggles or feral vision. More about Lexa is here.

Leo Pierce (Troy Pierce). Mutant Type: Molecular (Multiple). First Appearance: "Brother's Keeper."
Quote: Lexa: Just do like we did as kids, okay? Just think of one good--one good thing. Leo: Lex. My one good thing is you.
Details: As a molecular multiple, Lexa's twin brother Leo could change his physical appearance and personality to become at least 8 different people, including a German police officer, a young black girl named Mary Kate, and an elderly Asian man. Once the twins developed their new mutant powers, their parents sent them to be raised in a military facility. Leo began losing control of his alters at 14, so Lexa joined the GSA in exchange for Leo's placement at a Genomex facility. Instead of receiving the treatments he needed, Leo was brutally tortured at the Genomex facility and warned that they would harm Lexa as well if he told his sister what was happening. Trapped and alone, Leo was forced to develop his most dangerous alter Troy, who murdered two of the staff members in order to escape. Fearing that Lexa would send him back, or that a confrontation with Troy would end in her death, Leo avoided his sister for five years. Lexa tracked Leo with the help of The Dominion, trying to save him from ex-GSA security chief Charles Carter, who wanted to substitute Leo's heart for his own failing one. Before Lexa could reach him, however, Leo once again changed into Troy to protect himself from Carter's pursuit. Lexa tried to reason with Troy, but when Troy threatened Brennan Mulwray's life, Lexa wounded him with a laser. Troy then morphed back into Leo, who died in Lexa's arms.

Calvin Porter. Mutant Type: Elemental (Sonic). First Appearance: "Blood Ties."
Quote: Hold it right there, champ. Hand over the disk, or become an instant orphan.
Details: GS agent Calvin Porter's mutancy had enhanced his hearing to such a degree that he had to wear headphones to block out everyday noise lest he be deafened. When Jesse Kilmartin's father Noah attempted to blackmail Nexxogen and Genomex with information about past misdeeds, GS agent Calvin Porter convinced Mason Eckhart to allow him to procure the incriminating disk. Noah had slipped the disk to Jesse for safekeeping, but once Mason agreed to pay for it, Noah led the GS agents right to its hiding place...and to Jesse. As the GS agents fired on him, Jesse ripped the headphones from Calvin's highly sensitive ears, incapacitating him with the sound of gunshots. Because of his failure to complete his mission, Mason Eckhart had Calvin podded.

Toni Quintana. Mutant Type: Psionic (Telekinetic). First Appearance: "In the Presence of Mine Enemies."
Quote: Toni: How come you never told me how much subdermal governors itch? Jesse: Toni? Toni: Any other girlfriends being held prisoner by the GSA?
Details: A former associate of Brennan Mulwray's, expert computer hacker Toni had given up her criminal past to date Jesse Kilmartin and run The Data Dive, a successful coffee/internet bar. Shortly after Toni successfully hacked into Sanctuary's computer system via a picture file she sent Jesse, GS agent Kendra MacEvoy pretending to be Toni's friend, kidnapped her. Kendra cleaned out the Data Dive and forced Toni to create a GSA-controllable version of Proxy Blue. Toni was able to keep Kendra from finding the disk which contained Sanctuary's access codes long enough to be rescued by Mutant X. After upgrading Sanctuary's computer security, Toni disappeared into the new mutant underground. From Adam's diary on Mutant X Lives: TONI QUINTANA - I must say I am not all that disappointed Ms. Quintana is on her way via the Underground Railroad. Her talent for computer hacking combined with a heated curiosity and telekinetics made her a liability to our security. Are all of Brennan’s associates this shady? I must speak to him about it. Of course, Jesse will suffer the most now that Toni is gone. She was his first passionate romance. Being young and separated from love is a pang I too have experienced. Perhaps I need to be more of a big brother to him than a mentor to him…until the next Juliet comes along.
